From the healthcare and support professionals to the housing officers and cleaners; from the maintenance people to the main board members, Hill Homes’ tenants have a vast pool of experience and expertise working for them every hour of every day. Equally important, though, is the sheer enthusiasm we all share for looking after everyone in our lively Hill Homes community.

Cath Wood
CEO

Currently our CEO, Cath has worked in the non-for-profit sector for 33 years. She joined Hill Homes temporarily 15 years ago providing Finance support but, thanks to her impressive qualifications (CIMA, BA(Hons) Accounting & Law, MSc Charity Finance) and extensive business experience covering IT, HR, communications, administration and outsourcing as well as finance, she has been here ever since.

As CEO, Cath has overall responsibility for housing and care services – her goal being to ensure everyone living at Hill Homes feels part of a vibrant community. As if all that were not enough, Cath is also a certified nutrition coach and the author of  The Good Investment Guide for the Voluntary Sector.

Marie Audemard
Corporate Officer

Marie has recently joined Hill Homes, in December 2023.

Her professional journey started in France where she has grown up, followed by Japan where she worked for one year. Marie came to the United Kingdom in 2000, and has since continued to work mainly in the corporate world.

Her experience ranges from the New York Stock Exchange during the early 2000s to 20th Century Fox and L’oréal, where she honed her skills in supporting senior leadership teams.

Marie is a full-time staff member, who will be working closely with the leadership team, the Board Members and across the key departments to provide full administrative support.

James Gregory
Chief Operating Officer

James took on the role of Chief Operating Officer in December 2023, after joining the team in September 2022 on an interim basis in order to help the organisation with their focus on quality and business processes. He brought with him years of experience from the healthcare sector, working for both private and public organisations, and has thoroughly enjoyed applying his knowledge to the social housing and extra-care sectors.
In this new permanent role, his knowledge of systems and processes within complex organisations will be invaluable in helping Hill Homes realise its strategy for the future.

Trish Payne
Housing Support Officer

Joining Hill Homes in September 2016 as Care Office Administrator was Patricia’s introduction to the care sector after 17 years in the corporate sector ended in redundancy. She was initially attracted to the role by its relevance to her wealth of office admin experience together with the satisfaction of working closely with different people and making a valuable contribution to their lives. A proud member of the team, Patricia spent the next few years working closely with tenants, staff and volunteers alike and then, when the role of Housing Support Officer became available, she saw it as an opportunity to engage more closely with tenants and their families on a more personal basis. She applied and was successful – and to this day still finds her work as rewarding as ever and feels that she still learns something new every day.

Carol Ravenhill
Finance Officer

As an AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) qualified Accounting Technician, Carol has been with the Hill Homes Finance Department for more than 21 years, having previously worked in floor- and office-based roles across the retail sector for some 25 years. In the last couple of decades, Carol has been part of a great deal of development and change, not least of which was the building of Trees. Although  her role is office-based, the friendly and sociable atmosphere at Hill Homes means she still gets to enjoy her interactions with other staff, tenants and their relatives.

Phil Wilson
Activities Co-ordinator
When he joined Hill Homes in 2022, Phil experienced a change of pace as prior to this, he had been working as a professional photographer since 2002. Following a 9-month stint travelling back and forth between the U.K. and Ukraine photographing the Russia-Ukraine conflict, he decided to make some changes in his career path and is now working part-time for Hill Homes while continuing his work as a photographer.
In the U.K. Phil spent time working closely with aid agencies and people in crisis and was attracted to his current role as a way to be of service to people in his local area. His role includes organising activities and liaising with tenants by chairing the Activities Management Group, which was set up to increase engagement with tenants’ needs. He is also responsible for editing Hill Homes’ weekly newsletter, to which he brings his photographic and writing skills. Phil is proud to be part of the team and finds the work extremely rewarding.

Jan Hutton
Activities Assistant
Jan has been working at Hill Homes for 11 years. Her first role was as a care and support worker and se is now our activities assistant. She has an excellent relationship with our tenants that she has built up over her many years of service. Her current role involves the running of activities such as social afternoon, bingo, and coffee morning, and playing an essential part in delivering special activities and events. She loves working with the tenants and the team.

Al-Amin Khan
Care & Support Manager

Al-Amin has been our Care and Support Manager, based at Trees, since April 2023.

He has 20 years’ experience in health and social care and has significant experience as a registered manager in various domiciliary and extra care services across different London Boroughs. Alongside care management Al-Amin has years of experience managing finance for an international social care charity.

Al-Amin is responsible for the care and support services we provide at Trees, working with tenants to ensure high-quality person-centred care and support is provided at all times.

In his personal life Al-Amin is committed to spending time with his family. He enjoys playing badminton and outdoor activities such as walking and cycling. He also enjoys travelling with his kids to English Heritage sites and places across the world with historical significance.

Atinuke Olafimihan
Team Leader

Atinuke has been working in the care sector for about 5 years. She spent 2 years as a community support worker, supporting individual disabled people in their homes to be more independent. She started working at Hill Homes Care 3 years ago as a care and support worker delivering care needs to the tenants. She was recently promoted to post of team leader where she leads her colleagues with the day to day care and support delivery. She leads the team to give medications, personal care, organise activities, allocate calls, liaise with GP surgery and works under the supervision of the care manager. Atinuke holds NVQ level 3 in health and social studies and is working towards her level 4 qualification.

Afroditi Ziangouva
Team Leader
Afroditi has been working in the Care sector since 2012, and started working with Hill Homes in December 2023.
Prior to this, she spent four years as activities coordinator and care assistant supporting individuals with different activities to maintain their physical and mental health daily. Later she worked as an assistant manager for 4 years where she was responsible for booking appointments, participating in meetings and traveling when required.
In addition, she has worked within a community-based organisation where she developed her care skills and got experience in clinical care. After promotion to a senior her main responsibilities were to train new staff members via tutoring and physical practice, going through risk assessments and care plans with each client and provide high quality of care. She holds NVQ levels 2 and 3 in health and social care, and is a Graphic and Web Designer.
In her spare time she enjoys music, travelling, Martial Arts, drawing, swimming and reading.

Amos Boyede
Team Leader
Amos joined Hill Homes in August 2023. He has 15 years of experience in the Health and Social Care sector and significant experience as a manager in various care homes and domiciliary care services across London Boroughs, mostly in Enfield, Haringey, and Barnet.
He is responsible for the night care and support services provided at Trees, working with tenants to ensure high-quality person-centered care and support are provided at all times. Alongside care management, he prides himself on being a good listener to his staff and the tenants.
In his personal life, he likes to spend time with family, and enjoys playing football and table tennis; he often goes bicycle riding on his free days. He loves travelling and visiting different countries for exploration.

Kaajal Chotai

A board member of Hill Homes Care Ltd since January 2019, Kaajal has significant experience in risk, legal, regulatory compliance and audit in healthcare, including CQC registration and inspection (having lead the CQC inspection for Moorfields Eye Hospital). She is extremely passionate about high quality provision of care and experience for patients, and brings that passion to the Board of Hill Homes Care, of which she is now Chair. As such she joined the main Board in September 2021.

Madi Turpin
Vice-chair

A board member of Hill Homes Care Ltd since April 2021

Madi is an independent consultant specialising in commissioning across social care and supported housing.

Madi works with both providers of care and purchasing authorities ensuring efficiencies, quality assurance and transformation.

A previous resident of Haringey, she previously worked with Hill Homes to set up the Care company and transfer staff into the service in 2014-2015.
She has also worked in commissioning with a number of Local Authorities including Haringey, Barnet and Enfield.

Robert Spain
Member of Hill Homes Care Board

A board member of Hill Homes Care Ltd since January 2019.

Robert is a chartered accountant with experience on charity boards and on audit/risk committees of not-for-profit commercial organisations; he has a desire to use his skills and experience to give back to the community, particularly such a wonderful organisation as the Hill Homes group.

Russell Emeny
Member of Hill Homes Care Board

Joined the Board of Hill Homes Care Ltd in September 2021

Russell gained nearly forty years’ experience in the NHS as a clinician, executive operations director, commissioner and health care systems improvement expert.
He retired from the NHS in 2019 and currently works part time as an independent health care consultant.

Russell is committed to supporting Hill Homes to provide high quality services that enable people to live their best lives.

Susan Tokley (Chair)
Member Hill Homes Board

Susan was a member of the Hill Homes Care board between 2016 and 2021, and was elected to the main Board in September 2018. Susan has a wealth of experience in the NHS, having begun her career as a student nurse at Addenbrookes in 1977. She has held a variety of roles over her career in clinical, management and commissioning arenas with her final NHS position being Clinical and Quality Director for the North and East London Commissioning Support Unit, which she left in 2015. Susan now runs her own health care consultancy. She has a BSc in Health Studies and an MSc in Health Services Management (Public Health).”

Patrick Hammill
Member Hill Homes Board

Co-opted to the Board in December 2015 and elected in September 2016, Patrick lives in Hackney and was an architect and a consultant for urban regeneration, with a focus on providing affordable housing and the range of homes and community services that underpin sustainable neighbourhoods. Until retiring he was Divisional Director for Urban Regeneration at architects Levitt Bernstein. Over many years he has developed considerable experience of managing charities serving communities in London, having been a founder member of two building preservation trusts and an environmental trust, and then continuing to ensure that they serve their neighbourhoods.

David Crump
Member Hill Homes Board

Co-opted to the Board in February 2018 and elected in September 2018, David specialises in construction and property matters, having worked as an executive director at iQ Student Accommodation (2019-current) and Folkestone Harbour (GP) Limited (2015-2017), and as an operational director at Quintain (2002-2015) where he had a prominent role in the company’s transition from mainstream property into urban regeneration.  David also runs his own consultancy, specialising in strategic development and construction advice.  He is a graduate of Aston University with an honours degree in Building Economics, and is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor, having qualified with the RICS in 1988.

Kaajal Chotai

Eamon Ray
Member Hill Homes Board

A previous member of Hill Homes Board and FRAC from 2015 – 2018.
Eamon has worked in various roles in the financial services industry and currently works for the Universities Superannuation Scheme, the principal defined benefit pension scheme for universities and higher education providers in the UK. He has previously also worked for General Electric and Deloitte.
Eamon has experience in investing and providing financial advisory services to a wide variety of companies, across industry sectors and countries.
He holds a BSc in Economics from Nottingham University, is an ACA qualified accountant and a CFA charter-holder

Jonathan Cooper

Co-opted in September 2020, Jonathan has broad and varied industry experience gained over 20 years, delivering continuous change and operational excellence in corporate multi-site portfolios, education and transport, capital planning and budgeting, performance management, strategic planning and analysis, facilities management outsourcing and workplace solutions.

John Powlton
Honorary Treasurer
Chair of Finance, Risk and Audit Committee

Co-opted in October 2021, John currently works as Head of Tax for M&G Real Estate, one of the UK’s largest real estate fund managers. He is a Chartered Accountant and holds degrees in Economics & Politics from the University of Sheffield, and Real Estate Investment & Finance from Heriot-Watt University. John has worked in finance, specialising in the taxation of real estate investment, since 2003 including time spent with a large professional services firm, a sovereign wealth fund and presently with a large asset management business. John participates in a number of industry bodies focussed on the property industry and as part of this regularly works with government agencies to provide input to new and proposed legislation.
